In November 2021, Isabella “Izzy” Tichenor, age 10, died by suicide. Her death came as a stark reminder of the challenges she and other young people face with bullying and mental health and helped galvanize the entire community to act and ensure resources were being provided to support them. To honor Izzy and her family, and help other young people, the Utah Jazz Foundation made a generous donation to SafeUT to support an anti-bullying campaign and suicide prevention resources.

Highlighting a shared commitment to the community and focus on mental well-being across the state of Utah, the partnership between SafeUT and the Utah Jazz extends with a public service announcement. The video encourages Jazz Nation to “take note” of their own and each other’s mental health and builds awareness about how the SafeUT app is available to support with any size crisis or concern.
